Betty Jean (Spillman) Schrimpf , 87, of Centreville, MS, died on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at SW Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS.

She was born on October 23, 1934 in Amite County, MS to Mack Spillman and Bessie Duck Spillman. She retired as switchboard operator at Field Memorial Hospital. She worked several years as telephone operator at the telephone office in Gloster until it closed.

She is survived by her daughter: Cheryl L. Beaty and husband, Rev. Greg H. Beaty, of Gloster, MS.;  her granddaughter: Meghan E. Murray and husband, Durwood of Oklahoma City.; two sisters: Mary Ann Huff and husband, Raymon of Hattiesburg, MS. and Janie Diamond and husband, John of McKinney, TX., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by two very dear friends and spiritual sisters in Christ whom she has known and had fellowship with for many years: Sarah McNabb (employees together for approximately 20 years at old telephone office in Gloster) and Pansy Wicker (Pastor's wife of former Methodist pastor in Gloster).

She is preceded in death by: her parents; four sisters: Hilda Predo, Vera DiTamasso, Ruby Whittington, and Effie Lashley; five brothers: Woodrow Spillman, Virgil Spillman, Malcomb Spillman, Sidney Spillman, and Tommy Joe Spillman

Betty was a longtime member of the Gloster Church of the Nazarene and more recently the Hazlehurst Church of the Nazarene.

Visitation is Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, MS. from 10:30 A.M.  until time of funeral services at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Greg Beaty.  Interment will follow in Roseland Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Butch Graves, Lowell Whittington, John Diamond, Devin Rainwater, Don Reulet, and Raymon Huff.
