William "Bill" Harrison Mabry, Jr., 76, passed away June 19, 2024, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS, where he was surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born June 7, 1948, to William Harrison Mabry Sr. and Virginia Dixon Mabry, who both preceded him in death.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Liberty, Mississippi, was co-owner of Sam Mabry Lumber Company, a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church where he was a deacon for fifty years. He was a member of The Gideon's International. He was a member of the MS Lumber Manufacturers Association, a member of the MS Forestry Association, a member of the MS Tennis Association and was an avid tennis player. He loved hunting, fishing, and cheering on his grandchildren. He loved all sports and was an avid Mississippi State Bulldog fan. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Bill graduated from Liberty Attendance Center and attended Southwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Bill is survived by his wife of fifty- five years, Joyce Jones Mabry; daughter Melissa Mabry Anderson; son William Harrison Mabry, III; six grandchildren, William Harrison Mabry,IV, Mabry Elizabeth Glass, Anne Riley Glass, Ella Virginia Glass, George William Glass, and Fred Alvin Anderson,V; brother, Jesse Pepper Mabry(Marcia)of Liberty, MS; sister Adair Mabry Brabham(Jack) of Covington, LA; brother-in-law Reggie Jones and Amy, sister-in-law Patsy Jones and Herb, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, MS. Funeral Services will be Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 2:00 at Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, MS, officiated by Dr. Brock Burch, Dr. Victor Walsh, and Bro. Ellis Hollingsworth. Graveside service will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers are the following: William Harrison Mabry IV, George William Glass, Fred Alvin Anderson V, Michael Brabham, Brad Wooley, Jaren Mabry, and Justin Dixon.
Honorary Pallbearers are the deacons of the Liberty Baptist Church: Burnell McGhee, Clay Caston, Will Caston, Mickey Golf, James Kirkland, Warren Leake, Gary Steen, Mike Tynes, and Ron Haygood.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill Mabry can be made to Liberty Baptist Church and Southwest Mississippi Community College.
