Obituary

Carolyn Marie Joseph, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 22, 2022 at her home in Ethel, LA.

Carolyn was born on November 4, 1941 in Woodville, MS. She attended Crosby High School in Crosby, MS, class of 1959. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Southwest MS Nursing School in 1977. Carolyn practiced nursing over 25 years. She often referred to her years as a home health nurse as some of her happiest, really serving each patient.

Carolyn blessed many churches, using her love of music to play the piano or organ for countless services.

Carolyn first met the love of her life, Sidney Joseph, as a child. She loved telling the story of saving a seat for him on the school bus as a 9 th grader when he was a senior. They corresponded through letters while he was away in the Navy and upon his return they married just a few months later. Throughout their 61 years of marriage, they enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets, many cups of coffee and long, meaningful moments of deep discussions and much laughter.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Sid; three children: Jeff Joseph (Susan), Valerie McClure (Keith) and Melinda Broussard (Robert); eight grandchildren: Doug Joseph (Kelly), Ben Joseph (Marlise), Tyler Stringer, Dylan Hymel, Andrew Everett, Madison Everett (Daren) and William Howard; seven great-grandchildren: Cooper, Collins, Copeland, Evelyn and Dean Joseph, Leilani and Kingston Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chase Stringer; her parents, BJ Sterling and Hilda Ashley and her sister Candy Lopez.
