Cynthia Sue
Griffin
d. Apr 19, 2024
Liberty
Cindy was born in Baton Rouge, La., August 29, 1973 to Noah F. Shelton and the late Dianna Lynn Shelton. She passed away April 19, 2024 at her home in Liberty, MS.
Cindy was a Christian woman and a homemaker. She was a member of Inhabitants of the Rock Church.
Cindy leaves behind her husband of 31 years, Anthony Eugene "Tony" Griffin. He was truly the love of her life. Together they had two beautiful daughters Tabitha Sue Griffin (Dustin) and Gabrielle Helen Griffin. She was a 'Honey' to one granddaughter, Adalyn Ann Griffin. All of her girls were her pride and joy.
Her family was her whole world. She loved her daughters and husband fiercely. When their girls were little, Cindy and Tony loved to go camping. They would pack up and take off to the mountains in Arkansas. Many trips also included her momma, nieces, and nephew. They would enjoy the outdoors, fishing, and Tony's camping toast. Many nights were spent around someone's kitchen table while she played card games with her momma, Michelle, Linda, and their girls for hours. Cindy also headed to the farm whenever she got the chance. There she spent time with her cousin and lifelong best friend Stacey Maximo (Doug). She loved family get-togethers and spending time catching up with everyone.
In more recent years, Cindy suffered from health issues. Tony was her constant rock. She spent much of the last year watching Addy grow. She always bragged about what new things Honey's baby was able to do. She made sure she talked to her girls everyday and to tell them how much she loved them. When she was having a particularly bad day or was sad, she always wanted her daddy. Mr. Noah would visit more often after the passing of Mrs. Dianna. He did this to not only check on Cindy but also to keep each other company after their shared loss.
Cindy also leaves behind her father, Noah F. Shelton. Three sisters and one brother, Rebecca Shelton, Michelle Campise(Chris), Linda Shelton, and Matthew Shelton. One sister in law Janet Shelton. Six nieces and nephews: Sabrina Spurgeon (Jeremy), Mark Shelton, Rachel Roberts (Cory), Joshus Cuevas, Trisha Ball (Stephen) and Angelina Blagg. Six great nieces and nephews: Larlie, Gaven, and Greysen Spurgeon, Tripp and Rhett Roberts, and Akasha Ball.
She is preceded in death by her mother Dianna Lynn Shelton, a brother Mark Anthony Shelton, both paternal and maternal grandparents, her childhood best friend Heather Cutchins, and countless friends and family that have gone before her.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to our cousin, Brad Brock, who rushed to Cindy's side and was there for Gabby when she needed someone the most.
Cindy it's not goodbye. It's just till we meet again.
Her memorial service will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Inhabitants of the Rock Church, 4697 Farmer Rd.., Smithdale, MS. 39664
