Darlene
Wilson
d. Dec 26, 2020
McCall Creek
In true Darlene fashion, waiting until the day after Christmas, she left this world and walked straight through heavens gates. Knowing that surely, she was grinning from ear to ear the entire walk through; and imagining the excitement, she experienced when she got to her Jesus. That vision makes us all grin too.
Denver Darlene Evans Wilson entered this world on October 25, 1953 with a bang in Baton Rouge, LA. to Denver and Lucille Austin Evans. She married the love of her life Doug Wilson on June 29, 1974 only after having known each other for 45 days. Their 46-year marriage was filled with love, and adventure. Moving from Baton Rouge, LA to McCall Creek, MS, then Tulsa, OK, Wheaton, IL, back to Baton Rouge, then finally settling down at their home in McCall Creek, MS; loving to sit on her porch, looking out at the creek, and watching her grandkids play.
Darlene was adventurous, but most of all loving. She never missed an opportunity to try something new or go somewhere different. She also never missed the opportunity to spoil her four beautiful grandchildren. Oh, how she loved her nightly chocolate milk, Baum's cakes, Community Coffee, Disney World, Snow White, but most importantly her friends, family, and Jesus. She never missed the chance to witness and share who Jesus is and who He was to her.
You always knew where you stood with her, and when you met her, you were instant family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Denver and Lucille Evans. She is survived, and remembered by her loving husband Doug, her son Dusty, daughter Dean'a and husband Mike Coffey, and two sons David, and Daniel. Four beautiful grandchildren Gracie, Mason, Christian, and Claire. Two Sisters Denise and husband Mike Kelly, Tammy and husband Robert Kelley, one brother Denver Evans Jr. caregiver Joleen Campbell. Sister's and brother's in-law, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
While we are heartbroken that she is no longer on earth, we will celebrate all that she was; incredible, beautiful, adventurous, loving, and amazing on Wednesday December 30th 2020 at Journey Church 17407 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA from 10am until service time at 12 noon. She will be laid to rest at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA following the service. Brown Funeral Home of Gloster, MS is in charge of the arrangements. brownms.com
