Doris M. Whittington Adams, 97, of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Sunday January 8, 2023, at her residence near Liberty, MS.

She was born June 24, 1925, to Edwin McMillan and Rosie Davis McMillan.

Mrs. Doris worked at the Blue Bell Blue Jean plant in Natchez, MS., the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez, the Kellwood Garment Company in Liberty, MS., and she did rivet work on airplanes in Wichita, Kansas during World War ll. She was member of Auburn Church of Christ.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She loved her family, and loved flowers, and enjoyed traveling and crocheting.

She is survived by one daughter Billie Haygood and husband Billy; four grandchildren Amanda Frazier and R.L., Pam Nunnery and John, Kyle Haygood and Dana, and Kim Miller and Brad;  eight great grandchildren, Kristina Kitchen and Brad, Ashley Hill and Jeremy, Jacey Mullins and Corey, Karlie Nunnery and Sutton, Chase Stutzman and Megan, Jake Haygood, Caitlynn Jones, and Kannon Nunnery; nine great-great grandchildren Kenley Mullins, Eli Olive, Kullen Kitchen, Logan Kitchen, Beau Kitchen, Caroline Kitchen, Elliot Hill, Maeson Hill, and Brant Hill; two special friends Catherine Jordan and Maggie Leonard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband J.C. "Jake" Whittington, second husband Percy Adams, daughter Betty Arnold, son-in-law Malcolm Arnold, grandson Thomas Kregg Haygood; two sisters Maxine Vaught and James, and Hilma Oglesby and Alton; four brothers Gene McMillian and Gladys, Alton McMillian and Phyllis, Roger Gray McMillian and Lanita, and Lawrence McMillian.

Visitation is Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, MS. from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Bro. Lindell Greer, Bro. Erin Flemming, and Bro. Dusty Rhodes. Interment will follow in Jacobs Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jake Haygood, Chase Stutzman, Kannon Nunnery, Corey Mullins, Jeremy Hill, and R.L. Frazier.  Honorary Pallbearers are Kyle Haygood, Brad Miller, John Nunnery, Billy Haygood, and Brad Kitchen.
