Dorothy Lee Karr, 88, of Summit, MS., passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Wesley Merrit Health in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born January 15, 1932 in Lottie, La., the daughter of the late John Simon Bissett and Mary Villery Bissett. Mrs. Dorothy was a secretary for the Baton Rouge Chief of Police for thirty years, retiring on August 16, 1996.  She is survived by one daughter, Gail Smith and her husband Barney; two granddaughters, Tammy Lee Rider and her husband Lee, and Patricia Rae Smith; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Conner, and Ciera Rider; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving sibling.  Visitation is Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Tangipahoa Baptist Church, 7555 Thompson Rd. in Summit, MS. from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the church, officiated by Rev. Mike Morris. Graveside services will follow in the family cemetery.
