Elaine Freeman Reeves, 89, of Smithdale, MS., passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Courtyard Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in McComb, MS.

She was born January 22, 1933 to Matt Freeman and Carnette Jackson Freeman.

At the age of 45, she went to college and graduated as a registered nurse. She enjoyed a full life, especially caring for others in her role as a nurse. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS.

She is survived by one daughter Melanie Hunter and husband Eddie; one son Greg Reeves; two grandchildren; Jessica Brigmond and Perrin Hunter; and three great grandchildren, Dustin Mason, Jared Brigmond, and Dominic Hunter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt Freeman and Carnette Jackson Freeman; husband  Lanyeous "LP" Reeves; and  three brothers, Howard Freeman, Roddis Freeman, and Hilton Freeman.

Pallbearers are Eddie Hunter, Perrin Hunter, Dustin Mason, Micheal Brigmond, Ken Freeman, and Neil Breeland.

Honorary Pallbearers are Delano Reeves, Jared Brigmond, and Dominic Hunter

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Gloster, Ms. from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel Gloster, MS. Brother Bruce Crosby will be officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Cemetery Gloster, MS.
