Frank Lee Smith Jr. 71, of Gloster, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.

Frank was born 23 December 1952, as twin just minutes before our sister Patricia (Pat). He lived live as a Freebird like the Lynyrd Skynyrd hit song. He traveled the highways of America driving and hiking, staying with friends, hotel/motels, and camping in the great outdoors. Like our family he was gifted with the ability to never meet a stranger, speaking to strangers in stores along the way. For most of his life he worked as a house painter, eventually owning his own Painting Business. As his health began to deteriorate Frank moved to a small apartment behind his brother John's house in Gloster so that he could help look after him. His time on earth came to an end on Sunday night at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents Frank Smith Sr. and Maxine Etheridge Smith, and son Curtis Smith.

He is survived by sister Patricia Byrd, three brothers James Lott, John Smith, and Mike Smith; two daughters Jessica Michelle Leblanc and Bridget Smith.

All family and friends are invited to attend the visitation Tuesday, 19 November 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, starting at 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M , officiated by Rev. Greg Beaty. Interment will follow in Roseland Cemetery in Gloster.
