Slaughter
Jerry D. Cox, 79, of Slaughter, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Baton Rouge General, Butterfly Wing. He was born September 20, 1942, in Marfa, Texas, the son of the late Albert and Zada Fern Cox.
He worked in his business, Jerry Cox Masonry, for many years, was an avid fisherman, and a member of Centreville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Cox; two daughters, Karen Manning and husband Mark, and Jerri Lynn Schnebelen and husband Donnie; six grandchildren, Trey Kirkland and wife Courtney, Brandon Kirkland, Dallas Holliday, Hunter Schnebelen and wife Shelbi, Madison Schnebelen, and Sydni Schnebelen; four great-grandchildren, Laken Kirkland, Charlee Kirkland, Kylie Kirkland, and Bishop Schnebelen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Zada Fern Cox, brother Gene Cox and his wife Betty, and Sister Paula Smallwood.
Visitation is Friday, November 12, 2021 at Centreville United Methodist in Centreville, Mississippi, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the church, officiated by Rev. Chelsae Knight. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville.
Pallbearers are Donnie Schnebelen, Hunter Schnebelen, Trey Kirkland, Paul Rogers, Bobby McCartney, and Jason Rymer.
Honorary Pallbearer, Johnny Templeton.
