JoAnn Roberts Kirkland, 88, of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Thursday November 7, 2024. She was born July 6, 1936, to Bonnie and Nona Mae Taylor Roberts. She was a housewife to her late husband Charles "Monk" Kirkland, and homemaker to her children. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Charles "Monk" Kirkland; her parents, her five sisters, and numerous other family members.

She is survived by her children, Smiley Kirkland and Terrie, Patricia McNeil and Mason, Bobbie Kraemer and Scott, Donna Smith and Clifton, Sammy Kirkland and Debbie, and R.D. Kirkland and Jennifer; brother- in- law Jerry Kirkland and sister- in- law Betty Callender; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great- great  grandchild and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Sunday November 10, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, MS. from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Visitation Monday, November 11, is from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Shan VanNorman, Rev. Danny Cook, and Rev. Mark Allen. Graveside services will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jackson Kirkland, James McNeil, Clay Kirkland, Chris Smith, Keith Hughes, and Josh Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Liberty Methodist Church or St. Judes.
