John Wayne Lambert 74 of the Mars Hill community passed away March 22, 2025 at River Bridge Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born November 2, 1950 in McComb, Mississippi, the son of Buel Lambert and Irene Brent Lambert. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, deer hunting and R.V. camping with his friends and family. He loved being outdoors and spent many hours hunting. He enjoyed being in the woods hunting, whether he saw anything or not. He just enjoyed the quietness of being one with God's creations.
He worked for Magnolia Electric Power as an equipment operator for 28 years until his retirement in 2013. He loved the companionship he built with his Magnolia Electric Power family and often talked about the experiences of the job, good and bad. After retiring, he built another relationship with the Burger King breakfast guys telling jokes and poking fun at one another.
He loved the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he met and married the love of his life, Jeanette, on July 18, 1969.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother Larry Wilson Lambert.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Jeanette Nevels Lambert, one son, Jarrod Wayne Lambert of Summit; one daughter, Bridget Nicole Smith (Jonathon) of Summit; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nicole Smith Weeks (Micah) of Kentwood; one grandson, Cole Weston Smith of Summit; one sister, Marilyn Jean Weekley of Summit and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
