John C. Thompson, 63, of Liberty MS went to his eternal home on February 22, at the McComb Southwest Regional Hospital. He was born on October 17, 1957 in Baltimore MD, to the late William H. and Christina (Dorn) Thompson.

He  attended school in New Orleans and completed his GED to enter the military. He was employed for many years in the hardware business, before a health issue forced him stop working. He was an active member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.

John turned his heart back to Christ in the early 2000s, when he married his loving wife Sage. Both him and Sage had a passion for collecting and treasure hunting. His dabbling in treasure hunting helped to supplement his income. He was not a rich man in an earthly way, but was one of the richest people that all that love and miss him know and understand in his love of Christ.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He recently wrote something that truly expresses who he was and his love for the Lord. "WE must remember, no matter how bad our hearts may be broken, or our bodies be in pain, it was Christ that suffered the most and served others. So even though I am in pain most of these days, I will sit with Sage and send out cards. Why because we love everyone we are sending one to, and are thankful to God who allowed us to know all our brothers and sisters in Christ and some who do not know him...so know matter what's going on, take a deep breath and get-r-done".

He is survived by his wife Sage Thompson, brother William "Bill" Thompson, 2 sisters Sandra Higgins,  and Sharon Larson, two sons Waylon and Kristopher,  one daughter, and 3 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Enterprise Baptist Church on March 12th at 6 PM , officiated by his Pastor Shan VanNorman.
