Johnny Wayne Cupit, 78, native and lifelong resident of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his residence.

He was born September 26, 1945, the son of Jack Cupit Sr. and Inez Etheridge Cupit. He was retired as Supervisor at the Kellwood Factory in Liberty and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Betty Cupit; children Jennifer Reid and Richard, and Wayne Cupit and Shelley; brothers and sisters, Betsy Coker, Charles Cupit and Susie, and Jack Cupit Jr. and Dalpha; grandchildren Dallas Cupit, Laken Cupit Thorn and Jonathan, Collin Reid and Olivia, and Clayton Reid and Charity; great grandchildren Kye Thorn, Zaden Reid, Peighton Reid, and Mary Parker Reid; and brother-in-law Billy Meredith.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jack Cupit Sr. and Inez Etheridge Cupit; sister Elaine Meredith, and brother-in-law Gordon Coker.

Visitation is Saturday September 28, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church near Liberty, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the church, officiated by Rev. Dusty Rhodes.  Graveside will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Collin Reid, Clayton Reid, Steve Watts, Andy Cupit, Jason Maxwell, and Dallas Cupit.
