Obituary

Joseph E. "Blue" Foreman, 93, of Gloster, MS., passed away at his home February 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.


He was born March 11, 1925 in Franklin County, MS., the third of eight children of Henry Burley Foreman and Trudy Bass Foreman.
He grew up in the Homochitto area and attended school there. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War ll, seeing action in five major battles including Utah Beach on D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.


He was married for 68 years to his loving wife Mary Agnes Brown Foreman who preceded him in death.
Blue and Mary Agnes made their home for many years in Hull, Texas where they raised their children, and he served his community as a member of the school board, Lions Club, Hull  Masonic Lodge and was a Cub Scout leader.


After his retirement from Entergy of Texas, he and Mary Agnes retuned to the Homochitto Community where they spent many happy years.
His Hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and cutting lumber on his portable sawmill.  He mostly enjoyed sitting on his front porch, having a cup of coffee with family and friends sharing the stories of his past.

He was loved and admired by his family and will be greatly missed. Those preceding him in death are his parents Burley and Trudy Forman, his wife Mary Agnes, daughter Clarise Workman, granddaughter Stacy Workman, three sisters, Bonnelle Bohall, Nadine Arnold, and Betty Rose Campbell,  and two brothers Bryant Foreman and Bennis Foreman.


Survivors are his son Dale Foreman and wife Melanie, of Huffman, Texas; daughters Jody Etheridge and husband Tommy of Gloster, MS and Crystal Ford and husband Warren of Hull, Texas;  eleven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brother Billy Foreman of Gloster, MS. and sister Mary Nell Borel of Meadville, MS.


Visitation is Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  Funeral Services are Monday, February 11, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Royal Chapel Church officiated by Rev. Max Foreman.  Interment will follow in Roseland Cemetery in Gloster with military honors.
