Julius "Buddy" Chancey O'Brien, 83 of Liberty, Mississippi passed away peacefully in his home on December 31, 2022. Julius was born in McComb, Mississippi, on July 8,1939 to Elva and Julius O'Brien. A devote Christian, he was raised in the Methodist Church and attended Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, Mississippi.

He attended McComb High School, served in the US Navy, and continued his education at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA.

Julius married Canetti Blanche Whittington, and together they had three children, Charles Mitchel, Andrea Carol and Toni Lynn. He worked in law enforcement for over 40 years and enjoyed raising cattle on his two farms in southwest Mississippi. Julius was also a proud member of the Freemasons, the American Legion, and the National Fraternal Order of Police.

Julius is survived by his son, Charles "Mitch" Mitchel O'Brien (Donna); daughter Andrea Carol O'Brien Wiltshire (Santos); and daughter Toni Lynn O'Brien; two granddaughters Chancee Marie O'Brien and Carol Maya Wiltshire and was predeceased by his father Julius Nathan O'Brien; his mother, Floris Elva Reeves O'Brien; his brother, James Lee O'Brien; and his wife, Canetti Blanche Whittington O'Brien.

Memorial services will be held at 4165 Bills Bridge Lane, Liberty MS 39645 at Andrew Whittington Cemetery on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.
