Donald Kem Reid, 67, of Centreville, MS, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Kem was the youngest son of the late Earl and Lorene Reid. He was a lifelong resident of Centreville and a proud graduate of Centreville Academy, Class of 1974.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, MS, from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm, with the Reverend Danny Cook officiating.
Interment will be at Mary Springs Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Gloster immediately following the service.
Kem was a loving husband to his bride of 44 years, Sharon Stokes Reid of Baton Rouge, LA. He was a proud father to his baby boy, Ryan Reid of Hattiesburg, MS. And to his granddaughter, Olivia Reid, he was the greatest Pap in the world.
Survivors include his wife Sharon, son Ryan (Cassie), and granddaughter Olivia; mother-in-law Gussie Stokes and father-in-law Melvin Stokes; brother Marlin Reid (Treva), sister Stacey Reid Duke, and sister-in-law Patricia Reid; many nieces and nephews who were immensely precious to him; and a multitude of friends who were like family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jennings Earl Reid.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Reid, Marlin Reid, Rusty Vine, Steve Kinchen, Darren Felder, and Rich Newman.
Kem was passionate about supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society New Orleans Hope Lodge. The family requests that any donations be made to these organizations.
