Obituary

Linda Gail Cowan, age 72, of Centreville, MS, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 23rd, 2026. After years of facing cumulative health challenges with incredible grace. She never once lost her faith but now she is finally at peace. “For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Born on March 1, 1954, in Centreville, MS, Linda was the daughter of the late Roland and Greate Herrington. Linda lived a life filled with purpose and a profound passion for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. An avid fisherwoman, she found great joy on the water and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Linda will also be remembered for her incredibly nurturing soul and a deep love for animals, always showing a gentle kindness to any creature in need. Known for her kind heart, quick wit and gentle spirit, Linda touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Linda is survived by her loving spouse of 55 years, Daniel Cowan, Sr.; her brother Lewis Herrington; her children, Tracy Brock (Claude), Daniel Cowan, Jr, and Heather Allen (Paul); her 6 grandchildren, Trey Bonaventure (Emily), Kimber Bonaventure, Landon Foretich (Emilye), Braden Cowan, Tristan Allen and Gage Allen; and great grandchild Tucker Foretich, also coming soon Jack Bonaventure. She was preceded in death by her parents.
