Linda Marie Strong, age 70, went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at her son, Matthew Strong's home, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Linda was the eldest of 3 children born to Alvin (Poon) and Theresa Broussard. Linda graduated from Erath Highschool in Erath, Louisiana.

While at nursing school she met Craig Allen Strong who had just finished his stint in the Navy aboard the USS Putnam. It was destined to be as she grew up on East Putnam Street in Erath, Louisiana. They were married on July 6, 1974. Linda went on to graduate as a registered nurse from Charity Hospital. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 43 ½ years at West Jefferson Hospital where she made some lifelong friendships.

Linda and Craig spent 49 years together building a wonderful life and family. They had three sons, Matthew Craig Strong, Marc Allen Strong, and Kyle Strong. She was also the delivery nurse for her two grandsons, Matthew Craig Strong Jr. and Collin Christopher Strong.

Linda enjoyed gardening, crafting, sewing, singing in the choir, traveling and quiet living on the 23 acres she and Craig purchased for their retirement years. Craig and Linda grew and canned their own vegetables. Linda loved cooking for her family with her homegrown produce. She also loved animals and took in many stray cats. Linda was a very giving person and never expected anything in return. She was a devout Christian and joyfully participated in several church functions. She grew up Catholic but in her later years she attended United Methodist Church and Hebron Baptist Church in Liberty, Mississippi. She found peace and comfort during her illness with Pastor Brad. Linda lived up to her name. She was brave and strong throughout her illness. Her faith in God was evident to everyone.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Craig Allen Strong; Mother, Theresa Breaux Broussard; Children, Matthew Craig Strong and wife, Melissa, Marc Allen Strong, Kyle Anthony Strong and fiancée, Kayla; Grandsons, Matthew Craig Strong Jr. and Collin Christopher Strong; Sister, Stephanie Ann Broussard and Brother, Paul (Boobie) Broussard.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Alvin (Poon) Broussard.

A reception to remember and celebrate Linda Strong's life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church - 6157 Hebron Road - Smithdale, Mississippi 39664.
