Linda
Sullivan
d. May 4, 2026
Centerville
Centreville, Mississippi – Linda Jean McAllister Sullivan, a devoted mother, doting grandmother, and trailblazing professional, passed away peacefully at her home on May 4, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She was 75.
Born in Natchez, Mississippi, on October 23, 1950, to Charles Lee and Grace Dickinson McAllister, Linda grew up with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love. She lived a life defined by hard work, dedication to her craft, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
As a proud member of the Boilermakers Local 582 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she broke barriers as the very first woman to complete the local's rigorous apprenticeship program at Local 582. Through decades of skill and grit, she went on to become the first woman to retire from Local 582, leaving behind a legacy of strength and inspiration for generations of women after her.
When she wasn't breaking ground in her career, Linda channeled her vibrant energy into her passions. She was an avid crafter who could spend hours wandering the aisles of Hobby Lobby, always imagining new ways to bring beauty into the world.
Above all else, Linda's greatest joy in life was her family. Her face lit up brightest when she was visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved with every ounce of her heart. She was their biggest supporter, their comfort, and their steady anchor.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lee and Grace McAllister; her sisters, Patsy Duck, Gwen Sparks, and Rita McAllister; and her brother, Charles Lee McAllister Jr.
Her beautiful memory will be kept alive by those she leaves behind: her sister, Teressa Holder of Lucedale, MS; her daughter, Jennifer Edington and husband Jimmy of Clarksville, TN; and her son, Jeffrey Sullivan and wife Ava of Summit, MS. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: granddaughter Brittany Steele and husband Yuri Quintero of Clarksville, TN; and grandsons Leyton Sullivan, Jaice Sullivan, Hayes Hinson, and Ethan Hinson. Her legacy of love continues through her two adored great-grandchildren, Colton Steele and Grayson Quintero, as well as many extended family members, friends, and union brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Gloster Church of the Nazarene (Highway 24-33S, Gloster, MS 39638). Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. Linda will be laid to rest at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster, Mississippi.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad McKey, Leyton Sullivan, Jaice Sullivan, Hayes Hinson, Ethan Hinson, and Kelly Arnold.
Linda's warmth, trailblazing spirit, and endless love for her family will never be forgotten. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who knew her.
