Margaret Ann Whittington Laird, native and lifelong resident of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024.

She was born February 27, 1946 to Jewell Lee Whittington and Evelyn Marie Lilly Whittington. She married Jerry B. Laird, who precedes her.

Margaret worked at the Kellwood Plant in Liberty, P&S Pharmacy Inc., Jitney Jungle  Medistat Pharmacy, and at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center as a certified Pharmacy Technician.

Margaret was member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she was active with youth and nursery, S.S., activities of the church. she also faithfully attended Enterprise Baptist Church.  She was a Past Matron of Charles Carroll Chapter #77Order of the Eastern Star. She worked in her yard and on crafts. She loved people, she had a servant heart, and was a caregiver to all in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years Jerry B. Laird, three daughters Linda Kay Laird, Lynn Gay Laird, and Marcia Lee Laird, and one brother Amos Louis Whittington.

She is survived by one foster daughter, two foster sons, and numerous relatives.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, MS. from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Shan VanNorman. Graveside will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

A meal will be provided afterwards at Enterprise Baptist Church.
