Marjorie Evelyn Rice Causey of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at her home. She was 96, born May 27, 1927, the daughter of Ernest J. Rice and Carrie Walker Rice.
Marjorie was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, making her own drapes and upholstering furniture. She was a very talented artist who enjoyed painting landscapes and still life. Many of her paintings are now proudly owned by her children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. When her children were young she loved to sew and made most of their clothes, even very detailed, lined winter coats were not beyond of her level of expertise. Marjorie belonged to many clubs over the years which she thoroughly enjoyed but her focus and passion in later years was being a member of the American Legion Auxiliary post 0076. She was always happy and excited to host the ladies of the Legion in her home for parties and meetings.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, MS.
Marjorie in survived by three daughters Sandra Ravencraft, Jewel Causey and spouse Bo Cedotal, and Belinda Fischer; son Robert Causey and spouse Helen; eight grandchildren, Renee Ravencraft Bierbaum, Donna Graf, Bill Neyland, Pamela Neyland, Andrew Causey, Carrie Blaize, Scott Causey, and Jade Fischer; twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Cecil Causey, two granddaughters Lisa Ravencraft and Anna Causey; two great grandchildren Logan Bierbaum and Charlie Allen; five sisters Annette Simonton, Elizabeth Mills, Erna Mae Mann, Lucille Anders, and Dorothy Wicker; and three brothers, Bert Rice, Bill Rice, and George Rice; and three sons-in-law, William Earl Neyland, Paul Fischer, and Earl Wayne Ravencraft.
Visitation is Wednesday January 10, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church, from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, at the church. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
