Marlin John Howard, 90, of Crosby, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Wilkinson County Senior Care in Centerville, MS.
Mr. Marlin was born March 26, 1932 in Winnsboro, Louisiana, the son of the late Seth Franklin and Icie Lee Pennington Howard. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Sturdivant Howard; two brothers Milton Howard and Garlin Ray Howard, and two sisters Mildred Howard White and Margo Howard Bozeman.
He graduated Crowville High School in Crowville, LA.; attended Abilene Christian College, graduated University of North Alabama, and attended Harding Graduate School. He married Betty Ann Sturdivant of Crosby, MS. on July 2, 1954, and they were married almost 62 years. He was a minister of the Gospel for several years, was superintendent of Childhaven Children's Home in Cullman, Alabama for 20 years, and was a rural route driver for USPS for a few years.
He is survived by one daughter Sabrina Howard Collins of Crosby, MS.; two sons Marlin Dean Howard of North Ogden, Utah, and William Seth Howard of Dacula, GA.; eight grandchildren, Briana Collins Nelson of Brandon, MS., William E. (Will) Collins of Montgomery, AL., Elaine Howard Treutlein of Salt Lake City, UT., Griffin Daniel Howard of Creve Coeur, MO., Melanie Ann Howard of North Ogden UT., Seth Thomas Howard of Dacula, GA., Nathan John Howard of Orlando, FL., and Lydia Howard Duncan of Johnson City, TN.; eight great grandchildren, Briley Claire Nelson, Jonah Michael Nelson, William Daniel Collins, Vivi Mae Collins, Lewis Elliot Collins, Luna Lynn Treutlein, Ansel Edwards Treutlein, and Franklin Eugine Treutlein; one brother Maurice Howard of Flowood, MS. and one sister Glenda Howard Greer of Vidalia, La.
Visiting at Brown Funeral home in Gloster, MS,. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, officiated by Bro. John Bryant. The burial site is in Rosetta Cemetery next to Will and Nina Sturdivant.
Pallbearers are Dean Howard, William Howard, Will Collins, Griffin Howard, Michael Nelson, and Thomas Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, make donations in his memory.
