Mary P. Taylor, native and lifelong resident of Wilkinson County, MS. passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at Field Health Systems in Centreville, MS.

She was born February 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Grady Phipps and Vallie Mae Wisner Phipps. She is also preceded in death by her husband James Taylor, brother Levell Phipps, and sister Auline Nicholas.

Mary worked for many years at the Department of Corrections at Angola, as a Sergeant of Corrections.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Medine and husband Anthony and Elaine Shipley; four sons, George A. Garig Jr. and wife Felicia, Henry Garig, Paul Perkins and wife Andi, and Lynn Perkins; one stepson Steve Taylor, one stepdaughter Kim Fontenot; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services are Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Enloe Cemetery on Silver Creek Road in Wilkinson County, officiated by Rev. Warren Whitaker.
