She attended and graduated from Centreville Academy in Centreville, MS. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized in the Centreville Baptist Church in Centreville, MS. She married Dale Aldridge on November 24, 1977.  They began their life together in Centreville, MS and continued building their family in Gloster, MS. They were blessed with one daughter, Amanda Aldridge.

Melanie was loved by many. As a Christian, she served the Lord through different ministries at Centreville Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed decorating and participating in the Ladies Brunch. She was creative and caring with each opportunity to complete a project, and always presented a big and bright smile. Before retiring from United Mississippi Bank, she served as a project leader for the Relay for Life ceremonies during her time working there. She enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening, decorating, baking, embroidery, fishing with her husband, traveling with her daughter, and lunch dates with her friends.

"For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." Matthew 25:35

"I thank God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:3-6
