Milton Glenn Weathers
November 26, 1947 – June 20, 2026
Milton Glenn Weathers, lovingly known as Glenn, Big Papa, Uncle Glenn, or simply "UG," passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, surrounded by the family who loved him dearly.
Born on November 26, 1947, Glenn graduated from Richton High School before attending Jones Junior College. He later joined the Merchant Marines, where he obtained an engineer license and served as a Civil Engineer, a role that reflected the dedication, skill, and strong work ethic that characterized his life.
While living in Utah, Glenn worked for the City of Provo and built a life with his wife, Charlotte. Together they raised their two children, Alicia Odom Weathers Norris and Wesley Glenn Weathers. Following Charlotte's passing, he returned to Mississippi to be near loved ones and his childhood home. He later married Trish Blalock Weathers, and together they shared a life centered on faith, service, and those they cherished most. He also worked at Blalock's Food Center, where he enjoyed serving and visiting with customers and friends.
A man devoted to faith, family, and community, Glenn dedicated countless hours to the Boy Scouts of America, mentoring young men and helping shape future leaders. He was especially proud of earning the Order of the Arrow and cherished his involvement with Scouting.
Glenn enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time on the golf course, fishing and hunting whenever he had the opportunity, and settling in to watch a good Western—especially those starring John Wayne. He was known for his toughness and resilience, facing numerous health challenges throughout his life with determination and quiet strength. Whether working on equipment, helping a friend, or offering a listening ear, Glenn had a remarkable ability to fix machines as well as broken hearts. No matter the obstacle, Glenn always seemed to find a way to bounce back, rarely offering complaint and instead meeting life's difficulties with perseverance and grace.
Glenn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout his life. His service included three bishoprics, the Young Men program, High Priests Group Leader, and many other positions where his steady faith, wisdom, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact.
More than any title or accomplishment, Glenn treasured his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend whose kindness, humor, and quiet strength will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton Wesley Weathers and Jewel Odom Weathers; his brother, Walter F. Weathers; and his wife, Charlotte Blalock Weathers.
He is survived by his wife, Trish Blalock Weathers; his daughter, Alicia Odom Weathers Norris (Michael); his son, Wesley Glenn Weathers (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Aryn Norris Hinton (Chris), Chris Norris (M'Lyn), Breanna Norris, Brook Norris Patterson (Michael), Brandon Norris, Porter Weathers, Corbin Weathers, and Isaac Weathers; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and extended family members and friends whose lives were blessed by knowing him.
Glenn's life was firmly rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ. One of his favorite scriptures was Helaman 5:12, which teaches the importance of building upon the rock of our Redeemer. Throughout his life, he sought to do just that—serving faithfully, loving generously, and putting family first. The legacy he leaves behind is not only one of hard work and service, but of steadfast faith. His family finds comfort in the promise that families are forever.
Visitation is Saturday June 27, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty, Mississippi, from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow in Blalock Cemetery.
