Nellie Rogers Higgins, 83, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, March 15, 2019 at her home. She was a native of Amite County and a resident of Liberty, Mississippi.
She was a former employee of Kellwood for many years. She was an excellent cook and loved the outdoors. She had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She was a very loving and compassionate person who was always thinking of others. Every week she would send cards to people that were sick, their birthdays, or needed sympathy. She was a longtime active member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Sweet Sprit Singers and loved to travel. She will be truly missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband, Murray Higgins; her children, son, David and Amanda Rogers of Liberty, MS.: daughter, Debra and Edward Burciaga of Dallas, TX.; daughter, Wanda Arnold of Liberty, MS.; and daughter Melloanie Aldridge of Gloster; eight grandchildren, Tabetha Blanchard, Cassie Ezell, Kristen Hobgood, Whitney Stutzman, Kayla Arnold, Kelly Arnold, and Brandon and Raven Aldridge; five great grandchildren, Austin Blanchard, Seth Ezell, Beau Ezell, Braelynne Aldridge, and Abbie Aldridge; two brothers, James Hale and Wade Hale: three sisters, Ann Austin, Dorothy Hester, and Jonnie Lamb.
Preceded in death by her previous husband Ollie Rogers, and her parents, Robert Rutha Hale
Visitation is Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, Mississippi, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Monday, March 18, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Monday, at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. James Sadler and Rev. Jackie Moulder. Interment will follow in Liberty, Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brandon Aldridge, Ron Hobgood, Jessie James Hale, Arlis Robers Jr., Wayne Edler, Nicholas Elder, and Johnny Morgan Jr.
