Norma Jean Blalock Knight, 73, of Liberty, passed from this life peacefully on May 31, 2019. She was at home surrounded by her immediate family after a lengthy and complex battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Knight was born October 21, 1945, in Amite County to the late Darrell Clifton Blalock and the late Connie Cordelia Cole Blalock. She was a lifelong resident of Liberty, MS where she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked as a beautician, in Liberty, for over 45 years, 35 of those years she owned and operated Corner Cuts Beauty Salon. She loved her customers and enjoyed seeing them every day. She also worked for several years at Liberty Community Living Center as a beautician. She enjoyed spending time with the residents at the facility, and she always strived to make their day a little brighter.Mrs. Knight served as an instrumental part of Amite County Ambulance Service where she volunteered for over 20 years as an EMT. She also taught CPR within the surrounding areas for 15 years. She was always very diligent in visiting and caring for the sick and shut-ins in the community. She took countless meals and made many visits to those in need over the years. Her dedication and service to her community was an extraordinary example of her selflessness. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her joy. Her great-grandchildren could always bring a smile and a sparkle to her eyes. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 55 years, William Monroe "Bo" Knight; two sons, Randal Knight and wife Melanie and Russell Knight and wife Michelle; 5 grandchildren: Kara Knight Usry and husband Roy, Ashlyn Knight Adams and husband Zac, Weston Knight, Derrick Knight and Brennan Knight; 2 great-grandchildren: Isaiah Usry and Finley Adams; one sister Nadine Blalock Duck; and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers: James Blalock and Jerry Blalock. A special thanks to lifelong family friend, Sandra Knox, for always being there and willing to help. Also, a special thanks to Hospice Compassus services for being so kind and caring. Visitation is Sunday, June 2, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty, MS. from 5:30 P.M. until 8:30P.M. And Monday, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Church. Interment will follow in Blalock Cemetery near Liberty.
