Obituary

Peggy McNeer Shuckrow, 86, longtime resident of Gloster, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Grace Health and Rehab Center in Slaughter, La.

She was born May 6, 1939 in Holmes County, MS. to the late George Newman McNeer and Willie Mae Ellington McNeer. Peggy married James Thomas (JT) Shuckrow and made their home in Gloster. She was a member of her beloved Galilee First Baptist Church, and was well known for her chicken pies and cheese straws.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband J.T. Shuckrow; four brothers Harold McNeer, Pete McNeer, George McNeer, and Sonny McNeer.

She is survived by her sister Mary Sue Dennis of Brandon, MS.; her son James Byron Shuckrow and Leisa of Centreville, MS.; her daughter Jennifer Ann (Jenny) Robertson and Gavin of Crosby, MS.; four grandsons Gavin Edward, (Bo) Robertson Jr. and Dana of Denham Springs, LA., Brandon James (BJ) Robertson and April of Gloster, MS., Thomas Russell (Russ) Shuckrow and Martine of Prairieville, LA., and William Chance Shuckrow and Taylor of Port Allen, LA.; great-grandchildren Mallorie, Brennley, Faith Ann, and Fallon Robertson, Beau, Seth, and Tate Pullen, Maggie, Benton, Jamey, and Jack Shuckrow, Audrey Bussey and Camden Rankin.

Visitation is Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, from 1:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Roger Johnson. Interment will follow at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster.

Pallbearers are Bo Robertson, B.J. Robertson, Russ Shuckrow, Chance Shuckrow, Colton Nettles, and Kenneth Felter.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Beattie, the men of Galilee First Baptist Church, and her nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Galilee First Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
