Richard L. Halford Sr., 90, of Gloster, Mississippi, passed away Thursday June 21, 2018 at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS.  He was born June 11, 1928 in Amite County, MS., the son of Willie Redden and Willie Mae Halford. He was employed at Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, La. for 31 years.

Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and  particularly fox hunting. His favorite thing was to go to the fox pen with PaPa D where they would stay up all night and listen to the dogs run.

Richard is survived by one daughter Debra Ard and her husband Mike; two grandchildren, Amanda Ard and Ryan Ard; three great-grandchildren Alissa Carter, Brennan Knight, and A.J. Ard;  one great grandchild, Kylin Carter; and one sister, Emma Jane Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Richard "Shorty" Halford; five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation is Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Mississippi, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Kevin Dixon. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
