Sandra Davis McCurley Steele, of Gloster, Mississippi passed away Tuesday October 19, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 15, 1939, the daughter of the late James Howard McCurley and Nannie White McCurley. She was a housewife and homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents: daughter Carla Steele Smallwood; two brothers Howard McCurley and Doug McCurley; two sisters Helen Goings and Lorraine Foreman; and son-in-law Brent Bateman.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years Raymond Steele; two sons Keith Steele and wife Janice and Jason Steele and wife Janet; one daughter Kim Steele Bateman; eight grandchildren, April Smallwood Matthews and husband Dustin, Kari Smallwood Smith, Brandon Bateman, Kaleb Steele, Nathan Steele, Brayden Steele, Connor Steele, and Kimery Steele; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters Mary Lea Huff and Flora Mae Freeman.

Visitation is Friday, October 22, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Gloster, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon at the church, officiated by Rev. Stacy McCollum. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Kaleb Steele, Connor Steele, Brayden Steele, Brandon Bateman, Brandon McIntyre, and Nathan Steele.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dustin Matthews, Scooter Bateman, and Tommy Smallwood.
