Thomas Dale Herndon, 70, of Liberty, Mississippi, died July 2, 2025, at his residence following a battle with cancer.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. Brown Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Dale was born March 28, 1955, in New Orleans, the son of T.P. and Lillie Herndon, who preceded him in death.

He was a diehard LSU Tiger fan as well as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was an avid camper who loved cooking and grilling.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

Dale worked many jobs, including the Mississippi Forestry Commission, the Coca-Cola plant in Baton Rouge, driving 18-wheelers cross-country, and as a truck driver for the Amite County Solid Waste Department, from which he retired.

He is survived by one son, Larry Dale Herndon of Rayville, La.; three grandchildren, Logan Herndon of Winnsboro, La., Hunter Herndon and Emma Perry, both of Delhi, La.; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 until memorial services at 3:00 P.M.  at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty. The Rev. Shan Van Norman will officiate.
