Twana Jo Whittington, 62, of Gloster, Mississippi, died January 24, 2024.

She was born on August 1, 1961, to J.P. and Lemoyne Whittington.

She worked as a rewinder operator at Georgia Pacific for many years.

Jo was a faithful Christian. She was an avid hunter. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her time with her horse, Jake, and many other animals that she raised. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father J.P. Whittington, mother Lemoyne Dawson Whittington, and nephew John Paul "J.P. Whittington.

Jo is survived by sister Diane Whittington Santella; brother Jackie Whittington and wife Sue; nieces Sandy Whittington Rushing and husband Tommy, and Tina Whittington Holland and husband Benji; great nieces Amber Rushing Longmire and husband Martin, Korlie Holland Carr and husband Kelton, Emily Rushing and fiancé Sonny, Kaitlyn Holland Crofford and husband Hunter, and Mollee Kayte Rushing; great nephews Jake Rushing and Cole Whittington; and great-great nephew Kase Carr.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, MS. from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00pm at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, MS. Pastor Danny Cook will be officiating.

Interment will follow at Whittington Memorial Cemetery, Hwy. 567 Liberty, MS.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Towles, Eric Morris, Sam Horn, Cody Long, Hunter Crofford, and Sonny Daigle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Russell and Kevin Dawson.
