Wolsy Virgil Chamness, 83, resident of Prairieville, LA., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Prairieville.   He was born May 7, 1935 , the son of Lem Chamness and Mary E. Lawrence Chamness. He served in the U. S. Air Force, and was a brick mason for most of his life.                            He is survived by his loving wife Minnie L. Looney Chamness; two sons, Virgil L. Chamness and wife Amanda, and William E. Chamness and wife Mary Ann; one daughter, Diana L. Roddy and friend Jerry McCrory; one brother Elise Floyd Chamness; thirteen grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.                                                                                                                                                                        He is preceded in death by his parents, Limb and Mary Chamness; two sons, Wallace "Neal" Chamness and Kenneth "Nash" Chamness; one daughter, Jewelene "Dobey" Gilley; two grandchildren; two brothers Mervin Chamness and Lawrence Chamness; and one sister Emma Rollins.             Graveside services are Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville, MS., officiated by Rev. Greg Beaty.
